Trust, safety & transparency

DesignKaro Policy Centre

Clear rules for a connected marketplace of customers, vendors, professionals and workers across home and property services.

Prepared 02 September 2026 · India-focused · DesignKaro Technologies Private Limited
Important status: This Policy Centre is a structured starter draft. Replace operational placeholders, verify live controls and obtain qualified Indian legal, privacy, payment and labour review before treating any policy as final.
01 · Privacy & data

We collect what the service needs—and protect it.

DesignKaro may process account and contact information, bookings, addresses, service details, location signals, chat and media, verification results, device/security data and payment status to operate the marketplace, prevent abuse, provide support and meet legal or contractual obligations.

Before collection, the app or website should explain the purpose, data category, retention, sharing and available choices in clear language. Consent should be specific, informed, affirmative and separately recorded where consent is the basis.

Privacy controls

  • Job-scoped access to customer addresses and precise location.
  • No Aadhaar number, OTP, password or payment secret in chat, logs or analytics.
  • Role-based access for customer, vendor, worker, support and administrators.
  • Requests for access, correction, deletion or consent withdrawal routed to designkaro2212@gmail.com.

DesignKaro aims to use an authorised, contracted verification provider and receive only the minimum KYC result needed for the use case. The exact provider, retention period, hosting/subprocessor list and data contact must be confirmed before publication.

02 · Marketplace terms

A clear relationship between customer and service partner.

Customer commitments

  • Provide an accurate service description, address, access information and safe working environment.
  • Review the scope, price/estimate, taxes, timing, cancellation terms and any approved additional work before booking.
  • Use chat and reviews respectfully; do not request work outside the agreed scope or share sensitive identity data.

Marketplace role

  • DesignKaro provides the technology and marketplace workflow; the order will identify the applicable service partner and supplier model.
  • Partner eligibility, service quality, payment settlement and support responsibilities must be documented for each category.
  • Nothing here removes a consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
03 · Payments, cancellation & service resolution

Money movement should be visible and verifiable.

At checkout, DesignKaro should show the service scope, itemised price, taxes/fees where applicable, partner or supplier information, cancellation window, refund route and support contact. The payment gateway should be identified, and client-provided amounts must never be trusted for capture, refund or settlement.

Cancellation & refund

Cancellation, no-show, defective-service, re-performance, replacement and refund decisions should be tied to the order ID, recorded in the ledger and communicated with a provider refund reference and expected timing.

Payment safety

Use a suitable regulated payment provider, signed webhook verification, idempotency, reconciliation, restricted access and chargeback handling. Do not store prohibited card data or publish payment credentials in code.

Category-specific SLAs, service guarantees, taxes, commissions and settlement responsibilities remain to be filled from the actual operating model and provider contracts.

04 · Safety, welfare & respect

Every home visit and every conversation should be respectful.

DesignKaro does not tolerate threats, harassment, sexual misconduct, discrimination, casteist or communal abuse, retaliation, unsafe work demands or misuse of customer/partner information. Reports may result in a warning, content removal, booking pause, restricted contact, training, suspension or termination, subject to a documented and proportionate review.

Partner welfare

Partners should see the service scope, earnings/commission calculation, deductions, payout timing, cancellation consequences and support route before accepting work. They may pause an imminently unsafe job and report injury, abuse, unsafe premises or impossible scope without retaliation.

Customer and home safety

Customers should verify the booking through the app and should not demand passwords, OTPs or unnecessary identity documents. For immediate danger or injury, contact local emergency services first, then report the incident to DesignKaro through support.

05 · Information security

Restricted data stays restricted.

DesignKaro’s security objectives are confidentiality, integrity and availability across the website, three apps, APIs, databases, cloud services and approved processors. Restricted data includes Aadhaar/KYC material, authentication secrets, payment tokens, precise location, private chat/media, production credentials and incident evidence.

  • Use least privilege, MFA for privileged access, short-lived tokens, encryption, secret rotation and prompt offboarding.
  • Keep customer, vendor and worker authorisation checks server-side; record security-relevant access without logging sensitive secrets.
  • Maintain backups, restoration tests, dependency review, vulnerability review, access review and incident/tabletop exercises.
  • Report suspected exposure or account takeover to designkaro2212@gmail.com; do not send passwords, OTPs, full Aadhaar or payment credentials.

Incident assessment, evidence preservation and any legal or contractual notification will follow the applicable law and provider obligations after facts are confirmed.

06 · Support & grievance

One accountable route when something goes wrong.

Use the in-app support flow or email designkaro2212@gmail.com with the order/account reference and the minimum necessary facts. Do not email passwords, OTPs, raw Aadhaar or full card data. DesignKaro should issue a case ID, set a priority, assign an owner, protect urgent safety/privacy/payment issues, preserve only necessary evidence and communicate the next step.
